Mixing

Preparing files

Before you send your stems

For mastering only, a stereo WAV with about 6 dB of headroom is enough.

  • Export each stem as a 24-bit WAV at the project's sample rate
  • Start every stem at bar 1 so they line up
  • Turn off the limiter and any processing on the master bus
  • Add 1-3 reference tracks you like the sound of
  • Write a few notes on what you like and don't like in your rough mix

Single services

MixingUp to 40 stems, 2 revision rounds. Each extra 20 stems +€100.
What is this?

You send me the separate tracks of your song (vocals, drums, bass, synths...) and I balance them so everything sits well together: levels, EQ, effects and space.

What is this?

The final polish of a finished mix. The song gets the right loudness and sounds good everywhere, from phone speakers to a club. It's the last step before release.

What is this?

Both steps, done by me one after the other. The most common choice if you have a recorded song and want it ready for Spotify.

Audio editingVocal timing, comping and clean-up before the mix.
What is this?

Cleaning up recordings before the mix: lining vocals up in time, picking the best takes, removing breaths, noise and clicks.

Stem masteringMastering from 4-8 stem groups (drums, bass, vocals...) for more control.
What is this?

Mastering from a few groups of your song (for example drums, bass, vocals, everything else) instead of one finished file. It gives more control when the mix isn't perfect.

For DJs who record a mix or a live set: I even out the loudness and tone between tracks so the whole set sounds like one piece.
